Stepping into L'Aravone Lodge was a pleasant surprise, offering a balanced blend of understated luxury and practicality. The chalet, reminiscent of a roomy camping trailer, provided a comfortable living space with a rare amenity in France - air conditioning, a true gem during the scorching May days. The fully-stocked kitchenette was a handy feature, although I only dabbled in using the essentials. The outdoor terrace was a serene spot, perfect for taking in the peaceful wooded surroundings and the melodious chirping of birds.The property's proximity to the charming town of Sartene and the ancient standing stones of Cauria was a bonus for history enthusiasts like myself. Pascal, the owner, added a personal touch to the stay, sharing insights on Corsican history and even guiding me to a nearby charging station for my electric car.While the overall value of the lodge was appreciable considering the amenities provided, a deeper focus on upkeep and modernization could enhance the luxury aspect. I recommend exploring nearby organic produce stands for a taste of local flavors, enhancing the overall experience.
